Death of a Leader

These days, people on "one side" of the political spectrum are not supposed to cooperate, much less have a personal relationship with anyone on the "other side." Siding with "the enemy" can get you branded a compromiser, a sellout, or a fool. While it is true that on too many occasions, conservatives have had their ideological pockets picked by liberals whose favor they curried, that is no excuse for hating people because of their political beliefs. What do you think about this quote, and the passing of a great senator?

  1. I think that Obama is trying his best but now that Ted Kennedy died is going to be difficult for him to do the medical reform and he also promised to do the migratory reform and i dont think thats going to become true because he has to work hard on the medical reform and there is no one supporting him.... If at least he had someone that helped him and wanted to do what he wants to do that would be great but there is no one... but as we all know the new judge on the supreme court Sonia Sotomayor she comes from latino parents hopefully she would be the one whom helps Obama..........

  2. Jay patel 01
I thinks that is a sad news. "Ted Kennedy was a senator from Masssachusetts. He is good member and really good friend of our president Barak Obama. He born in Boston and grew up in Massachusetts. He had two brother John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy. All three of them are good politicians. As a senetore he finished 9 term and he had served 47 years as a senetore. People use to call him "The Lion of the Seneate." He wanted to pass or have a health care for every single American. He had served in office since November 7, 1992- August 25, 2009. He helped Americans sice his last breath of his life. No wonder why he became good person and senetore. Once again I strongly thinks that this news is heart breaking.

  3. As matter or fact, his death was such a sorrowful thing to the nation. I remember that his family has been succession to the greatest leadership of the nation since 1960s. There was someone said that "The Lion of the Senate has been stilled. For the first time in fourty seven years Edward M. Kennedy is no longer a member of the United States Senate, and America mourns."In his time, because of his patience, people would be able to have a hope; because of his fights, everyone would be have a chance to speak; because of his support, we can prove a great historical event happened after Martin Luther King's inheritance. He is the great man than at the last time of his life, he still cares about the nation.
Economy would be changed, under his control, the companies of he support might loose the advantages, other sides would grow up, but it would be in a peace way; the solution of the health care problems would be postponed, but his thought would be achieved, etc.

  4. People should not judge other people according to their political beliefs. Each individual has different way of thinking, so in a society it is natural to have different ideas about a particular subject.

Even members of a family can have opposite political beliefs. Father can be a Republican as his son supports the Democrats. But every evening they still eat on the same table just like rival politicians who live in and serve to the same nation.

Edward Kennedy was one of the politician who could tolerate the different beliefs. He used the term of 'pluralistic society' to show how society can have so many different views.

President Obama called Kennedy as "the greatest United States Senators of our times" And in order to show Kennedy's succesful and friendly relationships with opposite parties, Obama said 'In the United States Senate, I can think of no one who engendered greater respect or affection from members of both sides of the aisle.'

As a result, it is too sad to lost such an important person and politician who showed that opposite beliefs can live together.

  5. I think its ashame that such a grear senitor had to die the way that he did but I think his way of think is correct. I also believe what Kenndy wanted to prove that is that we are all Americans and we should all work together to make it greater. I hope that everyone will think like Kenndy because it doesn't matter where your from but that we all should work as one. I know many will miss Kenndy but I know that he left a lot if hope for everyone to move on in life and make this land stand together as one whole.

  6. this is what exprecident Ted Kennedy said and I'm proud about it "I am an American and a Catholic; I love my country and treasure my faith. But I do not assume that my conception of patriotism or policy is invariably correct, or that my convictions about religion should command any greater respect than any other faith in this pluralistic society." and Ted helped out homeless peple he did it withou a pross release or a desire for public approval
