  1. I think Mr. President's speech from yesterday was really good. That speech really inspired most of the students. This year I have some goal such as get in to good college, study hard to keep my GPA up and do my home work so I can keep on track. This speech is not bad at all I think he is having hard time for that. I think every one should or must hear that speech to figure out how he spoke to the students and He never tried to convince student.

  2. This speech President Obama, he emphasizing the important of the education. There is a sentence that have been shack my hear, "Not matter what job you are going to do, I guarantee that you need education." I absolutely agree with him by this. This is the way a father talking, he in this speech acted as a father, a national leader, it a examplary of a adult talking to the children. After listening this, I think it would help me to set the goals.

I need to read one hour book; I need to get A from any class; I need to do more preparation about university. And I will reach those goals.

  3. President Obama's speech was well written as are many of his other speeches. This idea of the speech was to challenge students to set goals, work hard, and stay in school. All of those are great goals, but mine are different. My main three goals for the year are to keep up my good grades, ask as many questions as possible so I can understand everything to my fullest ability, and to do all of my homework and not slack off.

  4. This school year I have plenty of goals I would like to reach. I want to get better grades then I did before and I want to have less missing assignments because in middle school missing assignments were something I had a lot of. I would also like to meet new people and get involved into new sports. I think President Obama's speech was really something to think about because he really understands that none of us wanted summer to end and he wants us to try our best we can in school because in the United States we have much better education than a lot of places out there so he wants us to try our hardest since we have the rights to this education.

  5. I think President Obama's speech was very influential. He descriped how it takes hard work to become successful, and in most cases it takes one than more try. I think the message he is saying is that you should go to school and try your absolute hardest to be successful, like doing your homework, acing tests, and being a good student even if you don't like the subject or the teacher.
For this school year, three goals I have are to get better test scores, not procrastinate at all, and try to have fun learning what I learn, even if it's not the most interesting subject or topic in the world.

  9. I also believe that President Obama did a good job with his speech. I believed that he will inspire many children across the country. I agree with the twelve year old girl, that we the students are the future. However I do not understand why parents in America would want to shield there kids from hearing this speech so much that they would take them from school for a day or two.

  10. I think that President Obama's speech was inspirational to a lot of kids. I think it's lame that some parents didn't let their kids watch the speech because they "Didn't think that the kids needed the government to tell them that message, that it was the parents' job". Some goals that I have for this school year is to keep up my grades, not procrastinate on doing book reports or projects, and study hard

  11. The speech that President Obama gave yesterday was really good and inspiring to many students. For this coming school year my main 3 goals are: to study hard for every class I have, no matter how difficult it can get; be responsible with all my classroom behavior and homework; and also to be successful at starting my work early, not leaving it to the last day that it is due.

  12. My impression of Obama's speech was that is was really good. When he said to stay on track, get your homework done, and to not spend every waking hour in front of TV, well thats what I need to do. 3 of my goals for the school year is to get a GPA of 3.7 or higher, to get good grades on my tests and to join a club of some sort. Probably ASB.

  13. I actually believe that this speech is very inspiring because he says that we are the future and that being successful is hard and that we wont always achieve everything we want to. And we wont always get along with our teachers but as long as we try we will be successful. To me this is just a heads up. Overall in my opinion i loved the speech and i feel great to know that i have always had my presidents care for me and my future.

  14. President Obama's Back to School Speech is very inspiring to kids that are going back to school. During this school year some of my goals are to stay in school, study my hardest for each and every test, take several notes for each subject, complete all assignments on time, be on time for each class, maintain a high GPA over the school year, and over all be a good student and be respectful. Obama's speech was very good because it wasn't political at all, it was just addressed to students.

  15. This year I plan to contribute to the world in some way, and make myself a better person. This year I plan to help the environment by not wasting water or electricity. I also want to maybe do some community work or volunteer for some company or cooperation. Another goal for the New Year would be to work harder in school and do my homework right when I get home. President Obama's speech was very influential. The problem was that I thought it was too personal and direct. I understand that he was speaking to young children, but it was a little too basic. It was amazingly written though and he promises to be one of the greatest presidents of this century.

  16. President Obama's speech was inspiring and also very true. He noted real issues like kids dropping out of school and children feeing embarrassed to go to school. I think his speech shows that he cares about the nation's children and that he wants to show that he also relates.
Three goals I have for this year are to try my best and get good grades, study for my tests, and get involved in school.

  17. I think that President Obama's speech was very powerful for us students who are in school. He talked about if we wanted to suceed in life and have a good future then we would have to work very hard to become successful in life and in school. In President Obama's speech the thing that really caught my ears was how he was talking about failers! Dont let failers make you want to become one, stay focused in school and dont let anyone or anything come in your way!
For this school year my 3 most important goals are ...
*Try my best in everything I do physicaly and spiritualy.
*Get better grades then iI did last year an no missing assignments
*Remember to always Smile no-matter what mood im in i'm always going to remember to smile.

  18. I feel that President Obama's speech was very inspirational in many ways. His speech really influenced people to try hard in school. This makes me think about all the goals that I have this school year. Three of my goals that I hope to accomplish are doing well in all of my classes, making new friends, and just having fun. My impressions of President Obama’s speech were that it was very interesting on how he showed school in his point of view. He really tells people, that being successful takes a lot of hard work and time to put into. In the future, I feel that if people try hard in everything they do, they will achieve many great things.

  19. I thought that President Obama's speech was inspiring. He was talking about how difficult school can be at times, and to never give up. He also told about what the rewards to school could be, and he was a good person to make this speech, because to be the president of our country, he had to go through a lot of schooling himself, and because he never gave up, the reward was his carrer today. This year I hope to earn good grades by not only doing the work, but by also learning the information. Another goal is to study more for tests, and try to use different study methods to get a higher test grade. Also, one of my main goals is to ask more questions in class, because the more questions that I ask the more information I'll have to use on tests, study guides, and homework.

  20. President Obama's speech from yesterday was very well writen and spoken perfectly. He talked about how we, the children of America, need to stay in school and study hard. He said that we are the future for this country and we need to do everything and anything we can in order to help this country be a better environment for our people. I think that even President Obama is trying to help America by raising awarness about schooling and how children need to work teir hardest. Some goals I have for myself this school year is to get good grades in all my classes and to do all my work in those classes. I also want to get a good GPA for the school year.

  21. After hearing the President speech my one of my goals for this following year is to get all A and B in my classes. I will try not to miss any classes and come to school everyday. If I do miss a day of school I will make up all that work that I missed. As for Obama's speech I thought it was really good best he talked as he was one of us and throuh tuff time like everyone does and made me think that he is just like us just that he studied hard and tried his best at school. If he could do it that means that we could do it to if we try our hardest in school.

  22. One goal I have for this school year is to study hard and get passing grades. I was extremley motavated to stay in school when I saw Obama's speech. Staying in school, and striving to get a good education are other goals that I would like to accomplish this year as well. I think Obama's speech was a good inspiration for kids everywhere.I like how obama says that what you make of your education will determine whether we as a nation can meet our greatest challenges in the future. This statement motatvated me to learn as much as I can, in oreder to help the world with my knowledge in the future.

  26. I think president Obama's back to school speech was really interesting. I liked the way he spoke. He talked about what to do to succeed, and he said '' you won't need to succeed the first time you try'' to learn, you have to study and practice the times you need, and I'm completely agree in what he said. my goals for this school year are first I want to graduate from high school because this is my senior year, be responsible in all my classes to get better grades and the most important I want to improve my english.

  27. One of my goals is to get a project done over a week before it is due. I have the habit of procrastinating, and I want to break it. That is my second goal. The third goal I have is to pass all of the classes I have throughout high school. Barack Obama's speech has interested me more in World Studies. It's my least favorite subject, but now I know why I take it. It also inspired me to never give up on my goals. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Yes we can! I learned from Barack's speech that the most successful people are the ones that failed the most.

  28. I personally think that Obama's speech was inspiring, it makes me want to learn and do good in school. I liked it because, in the beginning he actually related to most students around the world. He knows what its like to have to get up and not want to, he knows the struggle with homework and studying, he understands what we go through. The fact that he can relate to me, made me want to listen more. Some goals I have for the school year, are to get good grades, and try harder because high school is what counts in the long run, along side college.

  29. I think president Obama's speech is short, sweet, good, and reliable. The speech was basically about how is good to go to school. Also focus on personal responsibility of the student and kids to do their homework, pay attention, and work hard. He also give some example about himself, and how his mother give up so much to send him to a better school.

  30. President Obama's speech was meant for everyone from kindergarden to high school and college students. He encourages us to think about what we have in store in the future. He wants us to do our best and reach our own goals in life. He believes that we can make a difference. And with that he will make a difference and help our schools by getting the supplies we need to reach our goals. Three main goals I have this year would be to try my hardest in school and get the grades for it. I also want to really understand the material we're learning not just looking for the letter grades.

  31. President Obama's speech was something that everyone who goes to school can relate to. He acknowledged that at times it can be difficult, and there are good experiences along with bad ones. One of my goals for this school year is to work hard and turn in every assignment on time. If I can do that, then I will be able to get good grades, and get into a good college.
