Pres. Obama's State of the Union

( From his speech last night) How long should we wait? How long should America put its future on hold? You see, Washington has been telling us to wait for decades, even as the problems have grown worse. Meanwhile, China is not waiting to revamp its economy. Germany is not waiting. India is not waiting. These nations -- they're not standing still. These nations aren't playing for second place. They're putting more emphasis on math and science. They're rebuilding their infrastructure. They're making serious investments in clean energy because they want those jobs. Well, I do not accept second place for the United States of America.

As hard as it may be, as uncomfortable and contentious as the debates may become, it's time to get serious about fixing the problems that are hampering our growth. (BBC.com) And as an educator, I still have to fight to help modernize our classrooms, and curriculum. iPad will help us compete, and some students still don't use computers in all their classes. Describe here how ready you feel to compete in the global economies and market. What tools do you need to be successful?

Nowadays, people are busy on studying, shopping, making money, and relaxing. Overtime, people are doing those by different ways, such as, travel or stay in their offices. But a main while, they all need silks to eligible to finish their wants. Today, world it is not enough that you could fit in the world just the knowledge learnt from school. In the social, communication skills and socials skills would be the first requirements; in the work, use the emotion to behave and sole the problems that would misguide you, electronics silks would also needed, etc.

  2. I don't think I am ready to compete in the global economies and market because I am still in high school and learning. In order to be ready and successful, I will first need to go to college and get a good job so I can make a good amount of money. I will need to be skilled at whatever job I choose and make smart decisions because that is the most important thing. I will then be prepared to compete in the global economies and market if I do these things.

  3. I don't think we should be waiting. We should start act or it wont be fixing. The more time we wait, the more problem we have, and things will be a puddled up like mud. All other country are doing what they are need to do. Everything write now are all electronic, and we all have to know how o use it. We can all use it for different ways. We can use it for communication, connect with family or love one. Technology is one thing we can all be successful at. It will help you and me in the future.

  4. I do not think America should put its future on hold. People are polluting because they are lazy, and I think it is because of that. That should not happen here in the United States. People who are caught polluting by the police should be fined. If the competition in the global economies and market were today, I would be as ready as I could ever be. The iPad is an excellent tool. It is like a computer. The best thing is, it can be carried around. It is better than the iTouch because it has a much larger screen.

  5. I don't think that America should put it's future on hold. There is a lot of new technology coming into the world, like the iPad, and other inventions that can help our country move further into the future. Right now, I feel like I'm not ready to compete in the global market, but after I graduate from college and finish school, I will have enough tools to halp me compete in the global economies, and maybe even invent something new for the future.

  6. Like every American has been waiting for so long i think they should wait little more time until our president gets stable and get us to work. Moving quickly could make our economy worse instead of getting it better people may be struggling but their is time in between they could work harder and be stable for till our president get us settle down and students could make a use of the new technology and some may not have the same chances. The tools you need to be successful is to have a good education and stay in school..

  7. As our President Mr. Obama said in his new speech that fixing economy is his first priority and he will focus more on that from now on. I think this is good idea but he could took that step earlier. It's still not late but we have to be really careful now. If we made one mistake now than we might have to suffer from depression. He also wants to pass helthcare bill but it's hard right now. "I don't think American elections should be bankrolled by America's most powerful interests, and worse, by foreign entities," he said. Hopefully we will fix our economy as soon as possible.

  8. President Obama's State of the Union Address - remarks as prepared for delivery. The State of the Union takes place at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 27, 2010 at 9:00 p.m. ET.

Madame Speaker, Vice President Biden, Members of Congress, distinguished guests, and fellow Americans:

Our Constitution declares that from time to time, the President shall give to Congress information about the state of our union. For two hundred and twenty years, our leaders have fulfilled this duty. They have done so during periods of prosperity and tranquility. And they have done so in the midst of war and depression; at moments of great strife and great struggle.

  9. I don't think the U.S. should put are future on hold. Students deserve the right to use the latest technology and grow along with the rest of the world. Hardly any classes use computers or any other technologies. The latest technology will help are economy and education grow. We are polluting are planet because we are lazy and we are not growing because we are lazy America needs to move forward and grow.

And on the bottom, there is a web that retell the all of achievements needed.

  11. I don't think that the United States should put our future on hold. I think that students should have the right to use the latest technology and grow beside the rest of the world. There are barely any classes that use technology such as lap tops. The only class that I am able to use technology class is my world studies class. This class is one of my most favorite classes because i am learning so much about all these technologies that I know I need to be able to use when I grow up. The latest technologies would help our economy and education grow.

I don't think that the United States should put their future on hold. We need to act now, or our country will have an economy inferior to that of China, India, Germany, or others. We need to make our newest technology available to students, to make their learning experiences better than elsewhere in the world. If the United States youth is well-educated, it will have a much better chance of being able to compete economically than if they were ignorant and lazy, like many kids are that don't have access to newer technology.

  13. We don't feel ready to compete in the global markets and economies for a few reasons. One reason is were still 9th grade students in high school and we don't have the experience to even think about competing in the economy. Second of all, the economy is in a major crisis. In order for future generations to improve America's economy, the children now have to emphasize a good education and work ethic. America shouldn't put his future on hold. Industries and the government have to try to get out of this deficit now. One thing America can use to improve its economy is our technology. Hopefully our technology will help prosper our economy like it did for Japan.

  14. I feel that we can not be put on hold. It is not right and people in the Unitied States of America should be doing something about this issue. Now, currently today, I do not feel at all prepared to compete in the global economies and market. We do not have the same eduacation as people in places like Gemany or India. Now, that other places are getting ahead, we are falling behind and it is going to make us much weaker today and also in the future. We have to have better technology tools to keep us in the game so we can win. WE can not just be average at everything, so we really neeed to strive for the best to be the best.

Students deserve to grow along with the rest of the world. In world studies we use technology such as computers every day, this class is very helpful to me because i not only learn about world studies but i also get to learn about different programs on the computers and itouches. We really need to strive to be the best we can and keep moving forward as a country.

  16. I also believe we should not wait because our economic market just kepts on falling lower and lower and if we don't do something fast a lot of people are going to suffer because of it. Yes we maybe we can put it on hold but others in the world will not, before we know it America is going be falling lower and lower so we need to start bring up or economy as some as posible. Before we know it is use who will be asking for help from China, Germany, and India the country who has always been the ones who helped and not need help from other countries. Yes their are a lot of problems right know but the first thing we need to do is not wait it's to do something about it the problem is not just going to fix its self its need everyones help to make it better. The economy is not just one thing its America like we the people are not one indivial we are many like th economy, so lets do something about it for our future.

  17. i dont think we should wait. Its time to take action and find solutions for our economy. But we have a big problem and our problem is that we have other countries competing against us and the less that we have right now its time.... one big example its China, China they're thinking big they're developing more technology. While the united states is thinking in other stuff as marketing and others... with the new ipad we waiting to have more success... one of the other big questions is are teenagers ready to use technology in the new world? In my opinion i think that we aren't ready because in schools we barerly starting to get computers and itouche's.. i think that maybe by 2018 we may be ready.

  19. Its easy to say that we can take the economy back in normal. Let see you do it, and its going to take time before we get back to normal. Right now we just have to be patient, and do our best. The economy will go back, we just don't know when.

Im not ready to compete in the global economies and market because im still a youngster at Carlmont High school and im more focused in my education. It's Obama's part to take care of the Global economics.

In general, America has many advances and if we keep it up, we can stay advanced in comparison to the rest of the world. We have quality public schools and educated
adults to teach children. By setting the right example to fix global warming, solve world hunger and change other serious issues world wide for the better. The children of this generation are capable of keeping the U.S. in first place.

The United States is waiting too long. We don't want to fall behind in technological and economical advances. Things are just going to keep getting worse if we keep sitting around and wait for change to come to us. We must make the change and put effort towards become a more advanced country.

  23. Jemer1, totally support your point. Even though right now, we have the patient, but Obama still have not help us on it, at least I did not see any significant improvement or any positive report saying, we are leaving the bottom of the economy. Instead of that, there still numbers of people losing jobs, houses, and their personal supports, such as insurances, etc. How long could people wait, a month, a season, a year, or three years? During that period, what do you expect them live for, Pr. Obama?
