Demonstrating Reasoned Judgement

Presidential contender Adlai Stevenson once said, "The hardest thing about any political campaign is how to win without proving that you are unworthy of winning."What do you think he meant?

  1. The candidates would take public attentions to praise the candidates, and as the result the candidates would gain the votes. But people are not very smart, they were made up some heroism events that shows others the fake Hero, they lied. And somehow there are always have some nosy reporters of the adversary would expose their stuffs. They deserved. The following web shows an example of the similar case.

  3. It appears far easier for eagles to learn to soar than for humans to learn think well.
Learning to make well-informed, reasoned judgments requires years of reflective practice, patient
mentoring, and broad education. Perhaps this explains the cynicism of a William James who
said, “A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their
prejudices.” David Ben-Gurion commented, “Thinking is strenuous art – few practice it; and then
only at rare times.” Bertrand Russell suggested, “Most people would die sooner than think; in
fact, they do so.” Winston Churchill said "Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of
them pick themselves up an hurry off as if nothing had happened.”

  4. I think he meant to try to win bay making the people think you are right for the job and make them think nothing else. Many people fine things about you that you don't want people to know and it can hurt your chances to win an election. That what most people do is finding out information about your opponent and you use that to hurt his chances of winning the election, yea now a days people don't play fair they always have to do something to hurt each other chances of winning the elections.

  5. I think he meant how hard is to fake the thing about any political campaign. This how you will win is by fakeing everything about political campaign. You have to fake the winning without proving anything that you are worthy or unworthy for the winning.

  6. I think what Adlai Stevenson is trying to say is that you can't get any where with the government without prove. Everything you do, must have prove to show the world that you have done a great job to the government. So, what his trying to say is that, even though your unworthy of winning you still have to come up with a great explanation or report to show that you can do the job and you deserve to win this campaign no matter what.

  7. He says that being able to win a campaign is not hard, the most difficult thing is to convince the people that you actually are a legit winner, and that you did not win by someone else's favor
